Heidi Klum

Also Heidi was discovered in a modelling contest, in 1992. Her discovery came about through one of the 1990`s late night shows, moderated by Thomas Gottschalk. There, Heidi Klum beat out around 25,000 competitors. At the time, she commented that she had actually just wanted to win a car, one of the prizes in the competition.  From today´s point of view, the foregone automobile prize was insignificant compared to the successful modeling career sparked by her participation in the contest. Instead of a car, she won a highly remunerated three-year modeling contract, with guaranteed minimum earnings of over 300,000 U.S. dollars.
But before beginning work under the contract, Heidi opted to first complete secondary school.  Then in the summer of 1992, she decided to pursue her dream job: modeling. She turned down a position as a trainee in fashion design. In 1997, she hit the catwalk for the first time, walking a Victoria?s Secret show.
Her big breakthrough came in 1998, after she managed to land the cover shoot for the American magazine "Sports Illustrated."  She thus stepped into the ranks of the supermodels.  To this day she remains a very well-known model, as well as a very successful businesswoman.

Julia Stegner

In 1999, the then-gymnast was discovered at the Munich Oktoberfest by perhaps the most famous and successful modeling agent in Germany, Louisa von Minckwitz. Immediately after a test shoot in Paris, Julia landed on the cover of French Elle.
As a result, the Louisa Models agency received a flood of inquiries. In 2002, Julia walked in Milan for the first time, in a fashion show by Tom Ford. She was booked at once for the Yves Saint Laurent show in Paris, 2003, which the designer both opened and closed. That was the breakthrough for Julia.
From then on, her career took off.   In 2005, she even received a Bambi as the best Shooting Star. Not only does she have advertising contracts with prominent brands such as Chloé, H & M, Dolce & Gabbana and Yves Saint Laurent. But also one can no longer imagine Victoria's Secret fashion without her.  She therefore belongs alongside the other big names in the model elite.

Claudia Schiffer

As a 17-year old, Claudia Schiffer was approached by a dark-haired man in a Duesseldorf disco.  The man claimed to be the head of a model agency. As it turned out, it was Michel Levaton, the head of the Paris agency "Metropolitan." Sparked by this nocturnal encounter in 1987, Claudia Schiffer became the most photographed model in the world. Had Claudia Schiffer reacted otherwise in this situation, assuredly her life would have been completely different.
But because of her decision, test shoots in Paris and a photo session for Elle magazine quickly followed.
She soon drew the attention of German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, and two years later, in 1991, became the best paid photo model in the world. Since then, she has appeared on hundreds of magazine covers.  She reportedly landed the highest paid advertising contract in history with Revlon.  Although the exact amount of the contract remains confidential, the figure generally talked about is 10 million U.S. dollars.

Werner Schreyer

Werner Schreyer?s great resemblance to James Dean, the American actor and heart-throb who died in 1955, certainly opened a door or two for the elegant Austrian.  His work for renowned international designers such as Calvin Klein, Versace, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Guess, Gucci, Prada,  and his collaboration with star photographers including Richard Avedon, Bruce Webber, Mario Testino, Herb Ritts, brought Schreyer into the limelight.  He appeared on the covers of ELLE, VOGUE and many other magazines.  In Germany, Werner Schreyer was known above all as the "cult model" of Hugo Boss.  Werner was discovered at age 17 by Mario Testino, the internationally known fashion and advertising photographer.  Testino was the first to photograph him for a major promotional campaign. Brad Kroenig

In 2001, a good friend arranged for Brad Kroenig to present himself to various model agencies in Florida. He quickly met with success, soon being signed by Ford Models agency. His debut job, a contract with Cosmopolitan magazine, paid a rather modest $150.  Only three months later, Brad decided to quit school in order to concentrate on his career as a model.  He moved to New York.  In the first year, following the advice of his agent, he grew his hair out, lost weight, and prepared a Sedcard. Kroenig soon appeared in magazines and catalogs for Maxim and Abercrombie & Fitch.  In 2002, he promoted the Italian designer label Fendi alongside Linda Evangelista.  A year later, he graced the cover of Italian Vogue and the London Loaded magazine; modeled for Armani; and together with  Marcus Schenkenberg, Axel Hermann and Ryan Burns, stood in front of the camera for photographer Leslie Kee. In November 2003, Krönig appeared with Gisele Bundchen in a twelve-page photo series in  Harper's Bazaar.  Just two years after his entry into the modeling business, he earned 30,000 to 45,000 U.S. dollars per photo shoot, and could afford to refuse orders.
